WHAT DOES A HEARING SCREENING ENTAIL?
It screening consists out of 4 different tests: Otoscopic Examination; Tympanometry; Pure Tone Audiometry and Oto Acoustic Emissions. A report detailing the results will be sent home with each child. Read more on the process below.
WHAT TESTS WIL BE DONE?
- Otoscopic Examination: Examination of the eardrum and ear canal.
- Tympanometry: Middle ear test.
- Pure Tone Audiometry: Tests hearing with the use of beep-sounds at different pitches.
- Oto Acoustic Emissions: The testing of the hearing organ without being reliant on the child’s response to sound
AND THEN WHAT...?
